Custodial Vicar of the Holy Land

A Franciscan of Egyptian origin, he has been Vicar of the Custody of the Holy Land since 2022. He has held numerous positions in the Custody. He is especially known as the person responsible for the Statu Quo of the Basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem. On the theme of peace he has meditated and written a lot, but also acted several times as a mediator in particular occasions of crisis or involving young Palestinians and Jews in common activities. He is also responsible for relations between the Custody, the State of Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
