He is the President of the Republic of Slovenia since November 2007. Besides his long diplomatic career, he has matured a large international experience, especially after the Balkan Wars of the 90’s. We remember more particularly his engagement within the UN when he served as Assistant Secretary-General of Political Affairs from 2000 to 2005. As an expert in International Law he is specialized in matters linked to the protection of minorities.
