He’s a member of the Parliament since October 2003 and he is the Commissioner for the Integration of Bavaria. Since 2010 he’s responsible at the Bavarian Department for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forests.

During his long political career he’s also been responsible of the Bavarian Department for National and European Affairs and previously spokesman of the Bavarian Government.

He studied Law in Munich  and worked as a judge in the city trial court.
