Betty Oyella Bigombe is the special envoy from Uganda in South-Sudan since 2019 and plays a key role in conflict prevention and mediation in Africa.
She is member of the women's mediation network FemWise–Africa and Commonwealth. She guided towards peace in North Uganda, firstly in the 1990's as Minister of State for North Uganda and consecutively as the leading conflict mediator in the mid-2000s.
