He is President and Founding Member of Ekta Parishad, an international movement based in India inspired by Mahatma Ghandi. He was awarded the Indira Ghandi Prize for National Integration and the Niwano Peace Prize 2023.
The movement, through non-violent action and respectful but bold dialogue with the government and local institutions, has achieved important results in the areas of social justice and the protection of rights, which, for example, led to recent land reforms.
