Impagliazzo Paolo

Secretary General of the Community of Sant'Egidio

A graduate of La Sapienza University in Rome, he has been involved with the Community of Sant'Egidio since 1994 in various social initiatives, most recently with prisoners. He has also been involved in Sant'Egidio's commitment to peace for more than 20 years. Between 2002 and 2005, he was part of the staff working on the reconciliation process in Liberia. Later he was part of the team that dealt with the conflict in Darfur and since 2017 he has also been in charge of the Rome Initiative, political dialogue for South Sudan. Since 2019 he has been Secretary General of the Community of Sant'Egidio.
