Lawyer and member of the Christen-Democratisch en Vlaamsparty, from 1 October 2020 she is the Minister of the Interior, Institutional Reforms, and Democratic Renewal in the Alexander De Croo Government.
Internationally, she led the OSCE mission for Tajikistan (1993-1994) and was a Consultant for the Office of the UN Coordinator for Afghanistan (1998).
