International Meeting of Prayer for Peace of the Worldwide Religions: "Living together in a time of crisis. Family of peoples, family of God".
Embracing the historical legacy left by the Prayer of Assisi 1986, promoted by John Paul II, the Community of Sant'Egidio has been organising a pilgrimage of dialogue and peace in the last 25 years in a number of European and Mediterranean cities.
Both Christian Churches and the other widespread religions, as well as cultural and civil society representatives gathered in the "Spirit of Assisi". More than in one occasion the meeting was the starting point for peace keeping processes in several areas all over the world.
The International Meeting of Prayer for Peace of the Worldwide Religions in the Spirit of Assisi will be hosted in Barcelona next 3rd-5th October, promoted by the Community of Sant'Egidio and the Archdiocese of Barcelona.
The current obscure time of economic crises and regional conflicts giving uncertainty and fear, religions question themselves in order to build a dialogue carrying new spiritual energies to be offered to world lacking visions therefore hope for the future.
Several Archbishops will take part to the Meeting such as Sistach, Turksin, Sepe, Ricard, Maiella Agnelo among the others, and relevant are the ecumenical delegations, The Patriarchate of Moscow, the Ecumenical Council of Churches, the Lutheran Global Federation and the Global Methodist Council, among the others.
Muslim and Jewish delegations from 16 countries and the major Asian religions representatives complete the parterre.
Lay cultural and political delegates from Latin America, Europe and Africa will be joining the dialogue to find new solutions and resolutions to enter a path leaving the global economic crises and the fighting against terrorism behind.
