Professor Barbara Hallensleben is professor of dogmatics and ecumenical theology at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Freiburg.
As a member of the Institute for Ecumenical Studies she founded a centre for the study of the Eastern Churches.
She is a consultant to the Dicastery for the Promotion of Christian Unity and a member of the commissions for dialogue with the Orthodox Church and the Community of Evangelical Churches in Europe.
